If you would like 2012 to be your healthiest year ever then this is the FASTEST way to get there….

If you know anything about me, you know I’m a fan of the “long game”.

I’m not somebody who promises “lose 10 pounds in 10 days” or any of the other B.S. you see littered all over TV, magazines and the internet.

Frankly that kind of messaging and communication makes me want to puke!

I’m a lifestyle girl and that means changing the “long game”. If I get you to change but only in the short term you will ultimately fail and that means I have failed.

I believe a strong will, perseverance to press on (even in hard times) and a lifelong dedication to learning and implementation are the ONLY ways to ensure your success long term.

That doesn’t mean however that you can never expect FAST RESULTS in fact I’m about to disclose to you the 3 tricks that will cause you to lose weight at lightning speed and get you started on the right foot.

The reason it’s important to follow these rules is to reaffirm to yourself that it is possible that the effort you’re putting in is worth it and that what you are doing is in fact WORKING!

The most discouraging thing I see my clients go through is the arduous task of working their butts off, in a new exercise program, and slowly cleaning up their diet and then being rewarded with the scale not moving an inch…not a pound….NOTHING! There is nothing worse than having worked your butt off for a week or two and not being able to see concrete proof that it is in fact paying off.

When I see that look in my clients eyes I know it’s time to bring out the ‘big guns’ or they will revert back to their old habits forever.

Here are 3 strategies and a mindset that will cause you to see IMMEDIATE results…

Do what you said you were going to do….. When you said you were going to do it… The way you said you were going to do it!

Step #1 Move….move….move…and then move some more

Start out by walking 1 hour every morning (preferably outside but if you must use a treadmill that’s better than nothing) and 1 hour every evening. Do not sit for more than one hour without getting up. Under no circumstances should your butt stay in a seat for any period of time over 60 minutes. If you’re driving pull over and get out. If you’re at the movies go to the bathroom. If you’re in a meeting or seminar excuse yourself to the rest room. No sitting for more than one hour. Set a timer that goes off every hour, on the hour, and get your ass up! Studies now show that sitting for long periods of time is worse for you than smoking cigarettes so stop it!

Our bodies are designed to move. The more you move the healthier you will be and studies also show there is no upper limit to that fact. In all studies the more the subjects moved the better their health. If walking is all you can do right now that’s fine but whatever exercise you choose its 1 hour in the a.m. and 1 hour in the p.m. with movement at every hour on the hour throughout the remainder of the day…This is the minimum!

Step #2 Eat Clean…Be Clean

If you want to see fast results clean it up. #1 increase your water intake according to registered dietitian’s there is a formula for the minimum requirement for hydration and it is .66 x your body weight= amount in ounces. For Example: .66 x 135 = 89 ounces a 135 pound person should be taking in 89 ounces of water (not including what is lost during a workout…so what you drink during a workout does not count) maximum 1 gallon or 128 ounces. The solution to pollution is dilution and if you live in this country your diet is polluted! In order to help clear out some of the pollutions (we can’t avoid, no matter how healthy we’re trying to be) there are toxins everywhere and they cannot be avoided entirely so to be clean rule #1 is DRINK UP!

Rule #2 Clean your surroundings Your surroundings are a window into your inner self. If your house/ car/ office are filthy your health is suffering for it. Start scrubbing, start organizing, and you will start to feel better. Not to mention you’ll burn some extra calories in the process. Remember movement is movement. Your body doesn’t know the difference between doing a step class and mopping the floor it just knows energy is being expended and the more you move the healthier you are. So fire the maid and get healthier!

Rule #3 the most obvious of all the “Clean” rules is to…..Eat Clean and increase the “good stuff”. You have two choices here; which course you choose depends on your personality more than anything else because they both work. Your first choice is to eliminate all unhealthy foods / drinks completely (and immediately) and eat totally CLEAN. Clean eating means no processed foods of any kind. No bread, no crackers, no pasta, no soda, no processed meats, no dairy, no foods “messed with” by man. It means following the Elimination diet to a “T” and eating only whole fruits and vegetables, meats, nuts, beans and eggs. Following this diet will not only cleanse you, it will cause you to lose weight very quickly and very easily.

Your second choice would be rather than thinking of it as what you have to “Eliminate” think of it in terms of Addition or “adding in so much good stuff there’s no room left for bad”. Again this is just two different ways of tackling the same issue and it comes down to your personality and which one seems easier to you. Which way seems like something you can tackle because they will both get you to the same end result which is being healthier Long Term with what we all enjoy; a fast and rewarding start so we’re motivated to stay on track.

If you like the “Addition” perspective more pleasing than don’t worry so much about what you “can’t have” focus instead on how much good stuff you’re getting. Dr. Joel Fuhrman recommends in his book “Eat To Live” that you get 2lbs of vegetables a day. One pound of which should come from raw vegetables, of all varieties, and one pound of cooked green vegetables per day (any green vegetable except peas) for example cooked broccoli, kale, greens, spinach, green beans, asparagus, bell pepper anything and everything green. Adding this simple rule to your diet can literally improve your health overnight…

If you follow the “addition” rules your day would look something like this:

Breakfast: Green smoothie (5 cups of spinach blended with ½ cup frozen blueberries, 1 orange and 1 banana)

Snack: nuts and an apple

Lunch: Huge salad (keeping in mind your end of day total of 2lbs)

Snack: tuna and celery

Dinner: Baked fish with a huge plate of your cooked green veggies

This amount of fiber will keep you satiated and you simply won’t have room for the bad stuff.As long as you are following “the rules” and adding in this much good stuff you will notice the “bad stuff” will start falling away right along with YOUR UNWANTED FAT!

Step #3 the mental side

Change happens in an instant it’s like flipping a light switch. You have either made the change mentally or you haven’t. If you find yourself constantly battling your weight you have not actually made the change. You are caught in a loop. Continuing to follow the same course of action will bring you back to the same point you are right now…dissatisfied with how you look and how you feel.

When you flip that switch you will know immediately because the world around you seems to change. New opportunities present themselves but in fact the only thing that changed was you. Once you truly change you will know it because it is no longer a struggle. If you find yourself continuing to struggle you must DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. Using techniques like “Tapping”, goal setting exercises like the “pound the rock letter”, and journaling are all tools that will make the change happen for you but the key here is to take a new course of action.

If you follow the 3 steps, I have just covered; you can expect to see results far faster than just the typical “2lbs a week”. In fact following these steps will get you visible results in the mirror as well as on the scale in as little as 3 days.
